I support of DA/2026/0236 for 82 New Canterbury Road, Petersham. This is an excellent location for increased density, on a major arterial road, walking distance to two train stations, and in an already mixed-use precinct. Eighteen new homes with active ground-floor retail is exactly the kind of transit-oriented infill Sydney needs. I encourage Inner West Council to support this application.

A six-storey development is completely out of proportion to the streetscape around it. While the RSL building opposite the railway line is of similar height, all the buildings along New Canterbury Rd, around Audley St, are no more than 3-4 storeys high. To have something of this scale is unsuited to the low-rise character of the shopping precinct. I’m not at all opposed to development but it needs to be in keeping with the neighbourhood. The redevelopment of the Huntsbury Hotel further along New Canterbury Rd is a good example of appropriate development.

Well, I see Sydney YIMBY are already on here. Where do they live again? Anyway it's too high. Three storeys is max for this location surely. It's totally out of character and the plans look pretty ugly. I'm opposed.

The existing building is ugly as sin. It's on a busy road near the station; I pass it on my way to the station daily. This would be a great improvement.
