There is presently a bicycle parking rack near the existing Woolworths DTB parking. Although this bike parking rack is substandard locking only a wheel, and with extremely restricted access since safety bollards were installed, it is the only available location to secure bicycles when shopping at this end of the Plaza Shopping Centre. The installation of bollards several years ago was apparently intended to prevent motor vehicles being driven onto the walkway and into the shop front. The bollards do appear to achieve this objective. They do also favourably protect the locked bicycles from being nudged and potentially damaged by vehicles. The bike rack is the type that supports only front or rear wheels - a cable capable of securing the remainder of the bike is recommended for bike users.
The standard of existing bike parking is low. Please do not lower the standard even further by imposing further practical restrictions on its use or even removing it without adequate replacement.
32-44 Craigieburn Rd Craigieburn VIC 3064
- Description
- The proposal comprises an expansion of the existing Woolworths DTB service at the Woolworths Craigieburn store. It will involve the upgrade of the existing parking to accommodate the expanded DTB service, resulting in one (1) additional DTB bay and a net loss of one (1) standard parking spaces available to shoppers. It also includes minor works and new business identification signage.
