Still prime habitat for our critically endangered koalas!!
Assuming this application is in relation to quarrying/extraction methods which will result in significant disruption to the local koala population. (It might be worth the council considering a different format for such applications so the general public has the opportunity to reply based on information being put forward regarding the actual proposed development.)
Despite claims made by paid ecological experts, koalas (and especially those in the Scenic Rim whose preferred habitat is being removed at an incredible rate to make room for housing development) DO eat Eucalyptus melanophoia. They are also not adverse to high altitude with the nearby Main Range National Park (average elevation 1077m) home to koalas. The application in question has an approximate elevation of 137m.
Governments on all levels need to consider the future wellbeing of our flora and fauna before it is too late.
Scenic Rim not so scenic?
