I am writing to formally object to the development application for the change of use of 18 Imlay Street, Broulee
NSW 2537 into a SEARMS group home.
This is a residential area and primarily occupied by young families with children. Introducing a group home in this location raises concerns of potential increases in overall crime rates for the area. Drug use, robbery, abuse, and potentially other serious crimes in an area in which so many children occupy is a significant threat and danger. The group home will negatively impact the safety and wellbeing of local families and the character of the neighbourhood.
I respectfully request that the Council carefully consider these community impacts, review the suitability of the site for this type of facility, and reject the application in its current form to protect the amenity of the existing residential area.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
