29 tree are tagged for removal. Now, I am happy that Hobson Bay council have indicated that natives need to be added to the landscape plan which means that 10 trees will be added to replace the loss of 29 established canopy trees. However, planting 45L pots means it will be quite a few years before they provide any shade. It also means a huge loss to the birdlife/possums that likely find shelter/habitat in these existing trees. I guess this is what happens when over-development requires that facillities expand to fit all the additional residents.
