3738 Whittlesea-Yea Road Flowerdale VIC 3717 Australia

Remove, destroy or lop native vegetation 3738 Whittlesea-Yea Rd is a historic private landfill which Council has since inherited for rehabilitation. The proposed project is to gather and re-bury rubbish that has been eroded out of the landfill cap, while also improving the existing site drainage. The front fenceline will also be repaired/reinstated noting that this will not impact the existing trees. Proposed works will not require the removal of any trees outside of a group of young trees that will need to be removed to allow access to a large section of exposed rubbish on the south of the site. The reburying works will require the area of the cap to be covered with a 300mm layer of soil. While this soil layer will not extend down the embankments into the heavily vegetated areas, it will extend to the edges of the vegetation/tree line surrounding the cap. Due to the 300mm extra layer of soil against some trunks, a large number of trees may need to be declared as lost.
