Remove one (1) Ficus obliqua (Small Leafed Fig) from the rear boundary and Offset. This semi-mature tree is in an unsuitable location and is growing in between the boundary fence and rear ancillary building. It has insufficient space to mature without causing ongoing damage to infrastructure. As there is insufficient greenspace to accommodate a mature tree of similar dimensions at maturity, the applicant is to contribute with two (2) one-off payments to the Offset Tree Planting program.

Remove one (1) Angophora costata (Sydney Red Gum) from the backyard and replace with one (1) medium-sized local native tree from Council’s Development Control Plan 2022, Annexure B3-2 Tree Canopy Replacement Planting List, of minimum 45L pot size, anywhere on the property, within one (1) month of removal. This tree has succumbed to poor health, the cause was unable to be determined at the time of the Visual Tree Assessment. The canopy had approximately 20% foliage with the rest of the canopy comprising of dead branches with delaminating bark. This tree has minimal chance of recovering health, to eliminate the increased risk of dead branches dropping its removal is recommended.

Hillii (Hills Weeping Fig) from the RHS of the building and replace with one (1) local native tree from Council’s Preferred Tree list, of minimum 45L pot size, growing to similar dimensions at maturity, anywhere on the property, within one (1) month of removal. This semi mature tree is in an unsuitable location, its roots have significantly lifted the concrete slab, its trunk is up against the boundary fence. The majority of its canopy is also over the roof line, to prune it away would require a significant amount to be removed, leaving the tree a poor specimen.

Remove one (1) Robinia pseudoacacia (Golden robinia) northernmost leader from the backyard, adjacent to the eastern boundary and replace with one (1) local native tree from Council’s Preferred Tree list, of minimum 45L pot size, growing to similar dimensions at maturity, anywhere on the property, within one (1) month of removal. Golden Robinia: The northernmost leader has succumbed to poor health and has a bare canopy and brittle branches, the cause could not be identified during the visual tree inspection. Its removal is recommended to provide the southernmost Robinia more energy to thrive. Prune one (1) Morus nigra (Mulberry tree) and one (1) Robinia pseudoacacia (Golden robinia) southernmost leader from the backyard, adjacent to the eastern boundary.

Remove one (1) Acer negundo (Box Elder) and one (1) Casuarina glauca (Swamp She Oak) from the southern boundary and replace with four (4) small-sized, local native trees, from Council’s Development Control Plan 2022, Annexure B3-2 Tree Canopy Replacement Planting List, of minimum 45L pot size, growing to similar dimensions at maturity, anywhere on the property, within one (1) month of removal. Box Elder: This tree has likely self seeded and is growing out from the boundary wall which is in a state of disrepair. It has insufficient space to mature without causing ongoing damage to the wall, to conduct repairs this tree will need to be removed. She Oak: This tree is in decline with a sparse canopy and bare branches due to exposure and sunburn resulting from another tree's removal to its eastern side. It has a low chance of recovery and is recommended for removal as it is losing an increasing amount of dead branches. Also removing: 1 small leafed Privet, 1 Giant Bird of Paradise (both exempt species).
